The CITY OF CORDOBA’s STRING ORCHESTRA was created on July 2, 1956. It´s conformed by excellent musicians, highly talented and trained.

It is the official orchestra of the City of Córdoba, in the center of Argentina.  It’s has been conducted by the maestros Luis Nihoul, Herbert Diehl, and Daniel Schapiro. In addition, it has had outstanding guest conductors and contracted principal conductors.

Since 2014 I am its titular artistic conductor.

Together with the OCMC we perform a very varied repertoire: from Baroque to the music of our days, also including arrangements and compositions of popular and folk music, mainly from Argentina and Latin America. We fulfill the task of keeping alive the music of the most recognized composers, and also that of promoting new composers and investigating the vast literature for string orchestra, offering a large number of first auditions and premieres in Córdoba, Argentina and Latin America.

With the OCMC we are committed to the entire population of our City, offering free concerts in the most important venues in our area, in Theatres, Churches, Cultural Centers, Senior Centers, outdoor concerts, and more. Likewise, its extensive programming contemplates interaction with local and foreign choirs and soloists, other municipal casts and popular guest artists.

The OCMC participates intensely in educational and extension programs, both in municipal schools and together with specific musical training institutions.
